The Japanese magazine Story, just like most fashion publications in Japan, has Melissa always in the sight of its ‘must buy’ selections of the season. But this month’s edition of Story brings a look even more interesting on the brand: how Melissa, a brand that creates with plastic, introduces in its language prints and details inspired by the Japanese culture, specially the Origami. The mention appears on a page that highlights various references on Japan in fashion.
In Jille magazine, Mary Jane, the first model created by Vivienne Westwood for Melissa, is who appears as a ‘must by’. And in Senken, the South African artist Esther Mahlangu is presented as the new collaborator of Melissa, which has considered the Brazilian roots (whose origins are also in Africa) to include Esther’s colorful and traditional prints in its collection.
