“Cité Du Design” is how the international design biennial launched in Saint Étienne last year is called. The event, which gathered in the French city professionals and brands specialized in sustainable design from all over the world, has grown, called attention and now arrived in Brazil. The cycle of exhibitions starts in Brasilia (13th - 23rd of August) and will pass through other three Brazilian capitals: Rio de Janeiro (3rd of September – 4th of October), Curitiba (15th of October – 21st of November) and Sao Paulo (30th of November – 1st of January of 2010).
Melissa – the only Brazilian brand invited to participate in the first edition – is a co-sponsor of this initiative, which in Brazil was curated by Nicola Goretti and happens as part of the Year of France in Brazil cultural calendar. The brand will be highlighted in the institutional material offered in the exhibitions, as well as in a video and a panel that will be permanently shown to the visitors.
Fernando Mascaro, the Brazilian architect specialized in sustainable design and a consultant for Melissa, gave lectures on the topic last year and this time will talk to the public about the current panorama of sustainable design in Brazil, including Melissa’s case.
